Don't TRY to be different. BE different, like Will.

Will Ragano is not just an artist working outside of the lines, he is one working without lines.

Too often, we, the music enjoying public, are force fed music from the ?good soldiers? of music, doing exactly what their record labels tell them to do. I?ve heard countless tales of lesser known (but by no means lesser talented) artists being told by their new record label that the album they just handed over for distribution isn?t quite the ?direction? the label was hoping for? even though that direction was exactly what made the label want to sign the artist in the first place.

Thankfully, Will Ragano bucked all these trends while recording music on his terms. The result was eleven pieces of audio art. These songs are raw. These songs are unbound by industry standards. These songs are exactly what need to be planted and nurtured in today?s musical landscape.

Some songs, such as Morning Bongs, consist of vocals and a simple guitar presence. Others, such as No Sunshine, have a much more complex musical composition to them, as well as vocal effects. One song, Tenderize, I want as my own personal theme music, to be played in the background when I?m going about my day.

What Ragano has done is not only compose outside of the musical norms, but completely disregarded them altogether. This is what great artists do. Ragano knows the intangible lines that exist in composition and breaks right through them. Consider him one of the leaders of the Manifest Destiny charge in music today, not only working outside of these predefined lines, but breaking them apart completely while refusing to draw new lines or boundaries.
